Dear Friends of the Sisters of St. Joseph the Worker,
On December 8th, the Church will begin the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy announced by Pope Francis. It will be a time when the entire Catholic Church will be united in thanking God for the mercy He has shown to each one of us. We should also find ways during this Jubilee Year to extend the mercy of God to others: to our families, friends and those in need. May the Year of Mercy be a year filled with many graces and blessings.
Be assured of our prayers for you during this Year of Mercy. May God continue to bless each of you for your prayers and contributions to the community.
Yours in Christ
Mother Mary Christina

Happy New Year to you all. I am an oblate of Conception Abbey in northern Missouri. I live in Markham, Ontario. While visiting the abbey one fine spring, I read about Catherine Spaulding. I believe your community traces its origins back to her. Keep up the good work. St. Thomas More counselled Richard Rich in A Man for All Seasons to be a teacher, and that God and his students would know of his brilliance. Thanks to the web, God, your students, your patients, and scores more know of your brilliance-the holy works you do in His name. Thanks for your witness.
