The month of May is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. But the month begins with our feast day of St. Joseph the Worker on May 1st. Pope Francis has said that St. Joseph exercised his role as protector “discreetly, humbly and silently…” St. Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary are wonderful examples for all of us. They teach us that we do not seek worldly fame and fortune but a closer union with God.
Sister Cecilia took an important step in her union with God by the profession of chastity, poverty, and obedience. Please pray that the Church and our community are blessed with many more women willing to forsake the glamour of the world and follow in the footsteps of Our Lady and St. Joseph.
God bless you,
Mother Mary Christina, SJW
and the Sisters of St. Joseph the Worker
